NoSurveil

No Spying, No Following,
No Surveillance

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 14, 2026

1. Introduction Welcome to NoSurveil. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. NoSurveil allows you to detect surveillance devices without compromising your own data privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App accesses and how it is used - all processing happens entirely on your device.

2. Data Accessed & Local Processing NoSurveil does not transmit any personal information, location data, or device identifiers to any external servers. However, the App does access and process certain data locally on your device to provide its core functionality:

Location Data: The App accesses the following types of location data:

Precise (GPS) Location: Your device's precise geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) obtained via GPS and device sensors.
Approximate (Network-Based) Location: Your approximate location derived from nearby Wi-Fi access points and cellular networks.
Background Location: With your explicit permission, the App accesses your location while running in the background to enable continuous surveillance-device scanning and tracking.
How Location Data Is Used: Your location data is used exclusively on your device for the following purposes:

Bluetooth (BLE) Scanning: Android requires location permissions to scan for nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices. Without location access, the App cannot detect potential surveillance devices.
Device Position Tracking: The App records where Bluetooth devices are detected relative to your current location, helping you understand which devices are near you.
Following Detection: Your location history and the location history of detected devices are compared locally to determine if a device may be following you - a key anti-surveillance feature.
Map Display: Device detection locations are displayed on an in-app map so you can visualize where devices were detected.
Proximity Alerts: Location data powers proximity-based alerts that notify you when a suspicious device is detected near your location.
Bluetooth & Device Data:

BLE Scan Results: Information about nearby Bluetooth devices (signal strength, device type identifiers, MAC addresses) is collected locally for analysis.
No External Transmission: None of the above data - including location data and scan results - leaves your device. We do not have access to, collect, or transmit any of your data to external servers.
3. How We Use Your Information All data processing is performed locally on your device. Any data generated - including location history, scan logs, device lists, and following-detection analysis - is used solely within the App to provide the surveillance-detection service to you. We do not share, sell, transmit, or view any of your data.

4. Data Storage and Security All data, including location history and device scan records, is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. We employ industry-standard local security measures to ensure that your in-app data is stored securely. You retain full ownership and control over your data at all times.

5. Data Retention

Location history and device scan data are stored locally on your device.
The App provides in-app settings to automatically purge older location history based on your chosen retention period.
You may manually clear all stored data at any time from within the App settings or by clearing the App data through your device settings.
All data is permanently deleted when you uninstall the App.
6. Permissions Summary The App requests the following permissions and uses them as described:

Location (Fine, Coarse, Background): Required for BLE device scanning, device position tracking, following detection, map display, and proximity alerts. All location data remains on your device.
Bluetooth (Scan, Connect, Advertise): Required to scan for and identify nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices.
Internet & Network State: Used for loading map tiles and checking network connectivity. No personal data is transmitted.
Notifications: Used to alert you about detected surveillance devices.
Foreground Service: Enables continuous background scanning for surveillance devices.
7. Your Data Rights Under laws like GDPR and CCPA, you have rights to access and delete your data. Since NoSurveil stores data only locally, you have full control to access or delete this data at any time directly through the App settings, your device settings, or by uninstalling the App.

8. Children's Privacy We do not knowingly allow usage by children under 13. Since we do not transmit or collect data on external servers, we do not possess any child data remotely, but we recommend parents supervise usage.

9. Changes to This Notice We may update this privacy notice to reflect changes in our practices or global regulations. The updated version will be indicated by a revised effective date at the top of this policy.
