1. OUR COMMITMENT
Guardient is built with a strict privacy-first approach. We do not collect, store, sell, share, or track any personal data.

 

2. WHAT GUARDIENT SCANS
Guardient performs local device scanning to detect potential threats. During this process, Guardient may process:
- File names (locally only)
- File metadata (size)
- File hashes (SHA-256)

IMPORTANT: No files or file contents ever leave your device. No photos, videos, documents, messages, or app data are uploaded.

 

3. WHAT DATA IS SENT TO OUR SERVER
Only SHA-256 file hashes are sent to our backend. These hashes are checked against VirusTotal's public hash database. Guardient does NOT upload your files or file contents to any server.

 

4. HOW DATA IS USED
The SHA-256 hashes are used solely to:
- Check if the file is known malware
- Retrieve threat intelligence from VirusTotal

Hashes are NOT linked to users and NOT stored permanently.

 

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Guardient uses VirusTotal only for hash lookups.
- No file uploads
- No personal identifiers
- Only the SHA-256 hash is queried

 

6. ZERO TRACKING POLICY
Guardient does not contain:
- Ads
- Analytics SDKs
- Tracking SDKs
- Crash-reporting tools

Your usage remains fully private.

 

7. DATA SECURITY
All communication between Guardient and our backend uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

 

8. UPDATES
If we ever make significant changes, the app will promptly notify you.
