Cyber Investigator Battlegrounds

CIB — Cyber Investigator Battlegrounds
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 21, 2026

1. Introduction
CIB — Cyber Investigator Battlegrounds ("CIB", "the App") is operated by DeepCytes ("we", "our", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. The App requires a DeepCytes account and an active subscription to use. It is designed to align with the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), the LGPD (Brazil), and other applicable privacy laws. By creating an account and using CIB, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Data We Collect

Account & Identity: the email address you use to sign in to your DeepCytes account; authentication tokens that keep you signed in and verify your subscription; and your subscription and licence status (for example, active or expired, and the expiry date).
Profile: a display name / codename you choose (defaults to "Agent"); and, optionally, a profile picture. You may pick a preset avatar or upload an image you select from your device (photo library or camera), which is compressed and stored as part of your profile.
Gameplay: your progress through cases (completion status, scores/stars, attempts, completion dates, and best solve times) and aggregate statistics such as total cases solved by difficulty.
Leaderboards: to power the in-app leaderboards, your display name, profile picture, cases solved, and solve times are stored and shown to other players. Your email address is never shown to other players.
Technical Data: an app-generated random device identifier (created by the App; it is not your hardware serial or advertising ID); app version and build number; device type and operating system; and basic diagnostics. Your IP address is necessarily received by our service providers when the App connects to them; we do not store it for tracking.
Payment Data: subscriptions are purchased and managed on the DeepCytes webstore. Payment details are handled by the webstore and its payment processors. The App does not collect, receive, or store your payment card details.
What We Do Not Collect: we do not collect your real name, phone number, precise/GPS location, contacts, or biometric data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to create and manage your account and authenticate you; verify your subscription so you can access the App; save and sync your gameplay progress across sessions and devices; display leaderboards and your profile; maintain security and prevent abuse; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

4. Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
Performance of a contract (providing the App, your account, and subscription features); legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, reliability); consent (adding an optional profile picture, which you can withdraw by removing it); and legal obligation (where we must retain or disclose data by law).

5. Sharing & Third Parties
We share data only with: Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), which stores your account, profile, progress, and leaderboard data on servers that may be located in the United States; the DeepCytes webstore backend, which verifies your account and subscription (hosted on Microsoft Azure, Central India region); other players, who see your display name, profile picture, and solve stats on leaderboards; and legal authorities, when required by law, court order, or to protect users. We do not sell your data.

6. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States (Google/Firebase) and India (Azure). Where required, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data Retention
We keep your account and associated data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your game data (profile, progress, stats, and leaderboard entries) and your Firebase authentication record are removed within 30 days. Data stored locally on your device is cleared when you log out or uninstall the App. We may retain limited data where required by law; only the minimum necessary is kept.

8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your data, and to object or withdraw consent. You can update your codename and profile picture in the App, delete your game data and Firebase account at any time via Settings → "Delete Account", or contact us for any other request. EU/UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local Data Protection Authority. Note: deleting your account in the App removes your CIB game data; to also close your DeepCytes webstore account or cancel your subscription, use the DeepCytes webstore or contact us.

9. Security
We protect your data using TLS/SSL encryption in transit, platform-backed encrypted storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain) for sensitive values on your device, Firebase Authentication, and application hardening. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password.

10. Children's Privacy
CIB is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children below the applicable age; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by a new effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app or email notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

CIB — Cyber Investigator Battlegrounds
Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 21, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using CIB — Cyber Investigator Battlegrounds ("CIB", "the App"), operated by DeepCytes ("we", "our", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU/EEA) and meet the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. Users under 18 should have permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Account
CIB requires a DeepCytes account to sign in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription & Access
Access to CIB requires an active DeepCytes subscription, which is purchased and managed on the DeepCytes webstore. Billing, pricing, renewals, and payment processing are handled by the webstore, not within the App. The App periodically verifies your subscription; a limited offline grace period may allow continued play without a connection, after which access is locked until your subscription is verified again. If your subscription expires or is cancelled, access is suspended until it is renewed. Refunds, where offered, are governed by the DeepCytes webstore terms and applicable law.

5. Licence to Use
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or attempt to bypass the App's security or licensing; automate, script, cheat, or otherwise manipulate gameplay or leaderboards; upload unlawful, offensive, or infringing content (including as a profile picture or codename); use the App to harass or harm others or to break any law; or share, resell, or transfer your account. CIB's content is provided for education and entertainment.

7. Intellectual Property
The App and its content — including cases, text, graphics, logos, audio, and software — are owned by or licensed to DeepCytes and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.

8. User Content
You are responsible for the display name and profile picture you provide. You confirm you have the right to use any image you upload, and you grant us a limited licence to store and display it within the App (for example, on your profile and leaderboards). We may remove content that violates these Terms.

9. Third-Party Services
CIB relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase (authentication and data storage), the DeepCytes webstore (accounts and subscriptions), and the app store you installed the App from. Your use may also be subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. CIB is an educational and entertainment product and does not constitute professional cybersecurity, legal, or investigative advice. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure.

11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DeepCytes will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the App.

12. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Settings → "Delete Account". We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or your subscription lapses. Provisions that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) survive termination.

13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which DeepCytes operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Consumers keep the mandatory rights available under the laws of their country of residence.

14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by a new effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app or email notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
